Plenty of potential, not fully delivered

Aspen Links Golf Course has a lot of potential, especially when it comes to the layout. It’s an 18 hole course just outside Regina with wide fairways, open design, and some solid hole variety. It works well for different skill levels since it’s playable but still has enough challenge with bunkers and a bit of water. Aspen Links Golf Course stretches out to around 6,600 to 6,800 yards depending on tees, so it can feel like a real test if you move back. The biggest positive is how enjoyable the layout is. You’re not constantly losing balls, and the course gives you room to swing. The facilities are also a plus, with a driving range, clubhouse, and extra amenities that make it feel like a full golf spot and not just a course. The downsides are hard to ignore. Course conditions can be very inconsistent, and that’s the main issue. Fairways and greens can get rough, with dry or patchy areas showing up throughout the round. The back 9 in particular can feel super poor at times, with conditions dropping off even more and taking away from what is actually a solid layout. Pace of play can also be slow, which makes the experience drag. Overall, Aspen Links is a course with a really good design, but it doesn’t always match that with its condition. If it was maintained better, it could easily be one of the top courses around Regina. Right now, it’s more of a decent round with clear flaws.
