When in Porto, golf here!

Recently had an opportunity to visit Porto and decided to get in a couple rounds of golf while in the area. This golf club, and adjacent resort, is approximately 50 minutes from downtown Porto and an Uber will cost you around 30 Euros to get out there. The course itself is in good shape, but it is tight. On their website they have mentioned that they are 3rd best Links course in Portugal. There are many holes right beside the ocean and beach. You would be paying much more to play a course like this in United States. But with the coast line comes the wind and that was extremely rough during the 2 days that I played there. With winds reaching 24 mph and tight fairways that created challenges and I could see many tourists walk off because it was very frustrating. While talking to staff, these days were considered to be windier than usual, but it is known for being a windy course. I guess that comes with the territory of being right on the water. Course itself was is good condition. The tee boxes were well maintained and greens were all in good condition. They were very soft which made them a bit slow, but were well kept. The practice facility you can tell was old and could use some investment. All in all it was a good experience, not sure I would travel specifically there for playing at this course but if you find yourself in the area it is worth it. It is also worth mentioning the adjacent resort which is associated to the golf course. It is called Tivoli Estala Golf and Lodges https://www.tivolihotels.com/en/tivoli-estela-golf-and-lodges This is a new resort, built in 2025 that has "tiny homes" available which a really nice and great amenities like the Pool, Fitness Center, Restaurant and Bar. You also have access to the beach just outside the gate. If you are going to go play golf at Estela, this is a great place to stay. The staff was fantastic.
