Joanne Goulet Golf Course is an okay, more affordable course that focuses on playability and pace. It’s not built to be flashy or scenic, but it gives you a straightforward round that’s easy to get through in a few hours. It works well if you just want to get out and play without spending a full day at the course. The layout is simple but still keeps things interesting. It mixes shorter holes with a few longer ones, so you end up using most of your clubs. The course is fairly open, but Wascana Creek comes into play on several holes and adds some challenge. The greens are on the larger side and fairly forgiving, which makes it a good option for newer golfers. One downside is the condition. The course doesn’t always feel very well taken care of. Some areas look worn, and maintenance can feel inconsistent throughout the round. The greens can still roll fine, but overall it doesn’t match the level you might expect, even for a municipal course. It can also feel a bit plain compared to higher-end courses. The open layout limits variety, and during busy times, pace of play can slow down. Overall, Joanne Goulet is a decent option for a casual round. It’s affordable, easy to play, and beginner friendly. At the same time, the condition and lack of standout features hold it back from being anything more than a basic, everyday course.
