A Fun and Scenic Golf Experience

I recently played at Lynx Ridge Golf Club, and it quickly became one of the more memorable public golf courses I’ve played in Calgary. The course has a great mix of elevation changes, tight fairways, and amazing mountain views that make almost every hole feel different. Right away, I noticed how challenging the layout was, especially off the tee. If you miss the fairway, the rough and hazards can punish you fast. The conditions of the course were mixed. Now I was playing in early spring, so have to give the club the benefit of the doubt. The tee boxes were in rough shape and fairways had some patchy areas. The greens were in better shape, rolled smoothly but were slow. This made putting both fun and frustrating at times. A few holes on the back nine stood out because of the water hazards and risk reward shots that forced me to think carefully before hitting driver. The atmosphere around the course was also really good. The staff were friendly when I checked in, and the clubhouse had a relaxed feel after the round. It didn’t feel overly crowded or rushed, which made the experience better overall. The scenery around the course also added a lot, especially on the elevated tee boxes where you can see across the valley and toward the mountains. I would definitely recommend Lynx Ridge to golfers who enjoy a tougher course that challenges accuracy and course management. It’s probably not the easiest place for beginners, but if you like competitive rounds and interesting hole designs, it’s worth playing. I’d easily go back again for another round. Due to early spring conditions, giving it a 3.5. I will have to re-visit in a few weeks as I suspect this course will be closer to a 4 later in the season.
