Strong Layout, Great Views, Worth the Round

The Verrado Victory Course is a modern desert course that feels different from a lot of traditional layouts in the Phoenix area. It is built into rugged terrain near the White Tank Mountains, so you get strong views throughout the round. Rock formations, elevation changes, and wide open desert give it a unique look, and several holes, especially the finishing stretch, play directly toward the mountains. One of the biggest positives is how playable it is. Fairways are wide, and there are multiple ways to approach many holes, which makes it less punishing off the tee than a lot of desert courses. The layout has a lot of variety, with risk and reward options and creative hole designs that keep you thinking. The 18th hole stands out as the signature, with a dramatic design and strong visual finish that most players remember. There are still some downsides. The course can feel less natural in spots because it runs through a growing housing development, especially on parts of the back nine. Some holes are also a bit uneven in quality, with weaker par 3s compared to the rest of the layout. Firm greens and desert areas mean missed shots can be hard to recover from, even if the fairways are forgiving. Overall, it is a fun and visually impressive course that suits a wide range of players. It may not be the most polished or consistent layout in the area, but the scenery, variety, and standout finishing holes make it worth playing.
