Long and challenging course

Long and challenging course

Located in the west valley of Phoenix is the 54 hole Wigwam golf course. I played the Gold course which was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr.. It is a long, par-72 course stretching to 7,345 yards, known for hosting USGA qualifiers and NCAA championships. Don't worry I didn't play from the tips..lol. I did find the greens to be quite challenging and unforgiving. Most of them were elevated and heavily protected by bunkers The course itself was is good shape, it can be a busy facility with 3 courses on the go, but there was a marshall on the course to keep things moving. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. After the round, don't forget to head to Red's for a cold drink and some nice food.
