Awesome Golf is one of those apps I keep going back to when I just want to hit balls and enjoy it. It is not trying to be the most advanced simulator out there. It focuses more on making practice fun and easy to jump into.
What stands out right away for me is how simple everything is. I can open it, connect my launch monitor, and start hitting shots within a minute. The games are what make it different. I actually enjoy doing closest to the pin or target challenges instead of just hitting balls on a range. The visuals are clean and smooth, and everything runs without feeling complicated.

The courses are solid, but this is where it depends on what you expect. Right now, it has a mix of about 4 original nine hole courses and around 7 licensed full 18 hole courses that they have been adding over time. I like that they keep updating and adding new ones, including Banff Springs Golf Course. It keeps things a bit fresh. At the same time, I notice the total number is still pretty limited compared to other simulator software. If I want hundreds of courses, this is not that. But if I just want a few fun options to rotate through, it works.

Another thing I like is the variety of modes. I am not stuck doing one thing. I can play a course, switch to challenges, or just work on distances. It keeps sessions from getting repetitive. It is also really good if I am playing with friends or younger golfers because it does not feel too serious.

The downside for me is the lack of deeper data. I get the basic numbers, but if I am trying to really break down my swing, it feels a bit limited. I also notice that the graphics on the courses can look a bit more arcade style instead of realistic. Sometimes I want something that looks more real. I have also run into small connection issues here and there depending on the launch monitor.
Overall, Awesome Golf is something I use when I want to enjoy practice and stay consistent. It is not built for detailed analysis or a huge course library, but it does a really good job at keeping practice simple and engaging.
